Local dual (Home Wi‑Fi)
Two phones running Lil Eye, one PC running Lil Stitcher, all on the same network. This is the fastest path for dual VR180 at home or in the studio.
What you need
- Lil Stitcher signed in on Windows
- Two phones with Lil Eye (primary + secondary)
- Same Wi‑Fi (or reliable LAN) for phones and PC
- Credits or a plan if the session will bill dual hours
Steps
- Launch Lil Stitcher, sign in, and leave it running. Do not click Start Dual iPhone or Rescan iPhones. Those stay on the panel as a fallback. The phones start the show.
- On both phones, open Lil Eye and choose Local (same Wi‑Fi). The desk has no Local / Away switch. The phones tell it which path to use.
- Tap Go Live on the master phone. They find the desk by Bonjour on port 7770. The live eyes arrive as WHIP on port 9885 (left and right). An older MJPEG path on 8080 is only a fallback.
- Stitcher selects Lil Eye and weaves a 3840×1920 plate by itself. Each ultra-wide frame is stretch-filled into its half — picture to the rim, not letterboxed black bars. Shift stays 0. Field of view stays 180, not the phone’s 120° and not the USB fisheye 205°.
Go Live: The phones start the show. Status on the desk moves from listening, to both phones ready, to LAN dual WHIP live. You do not press Start.
If Windows asks, allow Lil Stitcher on private networks so 7770 and 9885 can be reached.
Not two circles. Input should not stay on “SBS Fisheye VR180 (stitch)”.
That path is for a real fisheye lens. If the preview is two pucks on black, select Lil Eye again.
Details: what the picture should look like.
Good habits
- Keep phones charged and cool — dual video is work.
- Prefer 5 GHz Wi‑Fi when available; avoid overloaded guest networks.
- If one eye is missing, check that phone’s Lil Eye status and the Stitcher phone cards.
When to use Away instead
If phones and PC are not on the same network (travel, cellular, remote PC), use Away dual with the cloud relay.
